Himalayi Vikas Sameeti, Chalthi
Himalayi Vikas Sameeti, Chalthi, Champawat is working continuously at Champawat Uttrakhand since 2002-03. Himalayi Vikas Sameeti is a registered society under society registration act 1860. The Sameeti is functional in the fields of education, water conservation, solar energy, skill development, agriculture and animal husbandry at 18 villages of Champawat.
Under the supervision of Social Work Research Centre Tilonia, Himalayi Vikas Sameeti has undertaken various projects such as training programme for tribal people, Night school, Barefoot Digital Bridge school, Building water conservation tanks for government schools, puppet show to create awareness about clean water,construction of toilets in government schools, new energy resource projects and plantation activity.
The sameeti has 75 trees , veterinary clinic , hospital chalthi in its campus. Mr. Mohan Singh Bisht has been leading the organization and making efforts on the ground level for creating a sustainable Champawat.
With a collaboration with SWRC the Sameeti trained 3 people for 7 months at SWRC Ajmer and Sankalp Organisation . They were given training of solar energy, stiching-knitting and other fields.
The Sameeti also conducted surveys to collect demographics of Schedule tribes and Forest Rawats.
The HVS is conducting night school since 2004 economically weaker section people of area. Five night schools are currently in function under this initiative. This program is financially supported by SWRC continuously from 2012. Total of 155 students are being taught at these night schools.
Barefoot Digital Bridge School
The HVS has initiated Barefoot digital bridge school from January 2016 with assistance of SWRC, Ajmer at Hiyula of Village Dudhauri. One more BDBS has been established since September 2016 via oracle scheme at Belkhet at Village Diyuri and one more at Diyuri of village Naikona. In these digital schools children of poor families of age group 5-14 are being taught with a total of 100 students at present.
HVS is working towards conservation of water in collaboration with Ministry of Water Conservation, Government of India. With the assistance of ministry, Sameeti has successfully organised puppet show and displayed posters to create awareness towards conserving water. Sameeti also conducted testes of drinking water at more than 40 places in Champawat. The Sameeti has also constructed water conservation tanks and toilets at Government schools .
The HVS has also taken successful initiative for honey beekeeping program at 4 villages of Champawat with 12 women involved. These women were trained for 10 days and were given training of traditional beekeeping methods by scientists of Pantnagar University.
